What the resume checker measures

Resumly's file diagnostic reports six dimensions: parsing, section coverage, quantified achievements, writing quality, timeline consistency, and readability. These checks describe the uploaded document; they do not assess fit for a particular opening.

How Resumly calculates its score

The current rubric weights parsing at 22%, section coverage at 15%, quantified achievements at 25%, writing quality at 18%, timeline consistency at 12%, and readability at 8%. Resumly labels scores below 40 critical, 40–59 needs work, 60–74 average, 75–87 strong, and 88–100 excellent. Other checkers use different scales, so these bands are specific to Resumly.

What the score cannot tell you

The score is not a universal ATS pass mark. The checker does not compare a resume with a job description, reproduce an employer's software or screening rules, or predict a hiring outcome.

How to use the findings

Read each finding and its evidence before editing. Correct document issues that are real and keep every statement about your experience accurate; the aim is a clear resume, not a higher score at any cost.
