 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 


The Music Director works with the Pastor and Liturgy Committee to plan liturgies and music. The Director develops and directs choirs to provide musical leadership on Sundays and for other special liturgies that will lead the parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help “to that full, conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations called for the by the very nature of the liturgy”  Assists the OLPH school by planning, rehearsing and facilitating the school choir for weekly liturgies and special liturgies.  Provides music for funerals and weddings. Holds choir rehearsals, maintains music library and maintains all music equipment.

Requirements

  

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a skilled choral director, including the ability to direct from the bench.
  • Must be skilled in piano with ability to play the pipe organ.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the Catholic liturgy.
  • Must be able to get along well with people.
  • Must be organized and attentive to details with accuracy.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be self- motivated.
  • Must be flexible in meeting the needs of the job and able to follow direction.
  • Must be willing to continue on-going formation to grow spiritually and musically
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish desired, to lead the choir during the Spanish Masses
