SUMMARY: The Systems/Software Engineer collaborates with clients to design, evaluate, and optimize system architectures. This role bridges hardware and software requirements—conducting site modeling, evaluating network and cloud infrastructure, and ensuring proposed deployment solutions are feasible, compliant, and cost-effective.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure & Automation: Design, configure, and maintain virtualized environments and datacenter infrastructure; write scripts to automate deployment and operational workflows.
System Architecture & Siting: Propose network architectures, backhaul communications, and system configurations tailored to client specifications and site parameters.
Technical Compliance & Proposals: Translate client RFIs/RFQs into actionable proposals; build compliance matrices against industry standards; prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOM).
Documentation & Support: Maintain product configuration definitions and technical documentation across new and existing product lines.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of software/systems engineering experience.
Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware and OpenStack (or equivalent cloud platforms).
Datacenters: Practical knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, hardware setup, and deployment.
Linux OS: Strong administration-level competence in Linux environments.
Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for system automation and administration.
Networking: Solid understanding of network architecture, protocols, and routing/switching fundamentals.:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
