The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. In EMEA, we work with a wide spectrum of companies, from middle-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations. Scope

As a Summer Financial Analyst, you will work on corporate finance engagements for companies within a sector-specific M&A team. The group's engagements principally include sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions and capital raising assignments. As a dedicated member of our transaction team, you will be responsible for supporting these assignments. You will work with a talented, dedicated staff of professionals who will give you broad exposure to the many different issues and concerns affecting companies and investors today.

You will research and analyse financial statements, general economic conditions, industry-specific developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and investment attributes of publicly traded and private companies. You will also gain intimate knowledge of capital raisings and financing structures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must be in your penultimate year of study at a highly regarded university – completing your final university assessments in Spring or Summer 2028
  • Some knowledge or understanding of the financial services industry
  • An understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
  • Strong financial and computer skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail

As such, interns will be assigned to an M&A team with a sector-specific focus. These allocations will be made according to the business’ needs in the months preceding the internship program. This program will likely include internship openings on the following M&A teams:

  • Technology (Digital Infrastructure)

Please note that our Summer Financial Analyst Training commences on 14 June 2027, so you must be available to start full-time internship work by this date to be eligible for this position. Please note that applications will close at 11:59pm BST on Saturday, 17th October.
