Business Analyst / Project Manager – Investment / Corporate Banking - Assistant Vice President - Mumbai

Citi is seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Project Manager at an Assistant Vice President (AVP) level to support the execution of Data Quality (DQ) Management within the Banking & International (B&I) Data organization. This role will work closely with the SVP and/or VP overseeing Banking Data Domain initiatives, ensuring effective identification, analysis, and resolution of data concerns that impact business operations. Key to this role is driving Data Governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal standards, and contributing to AI-driven automation of DQ governance procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute milestone deliverables on key consent order work related to Banking domain, achieving timely results and reporting meaningful progress.
  • Drive the successful execution of Banking Data Domain initiatives, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and governance for critical business processes.
  • Build and maintain an efficient exception management process to ensure timely RCA and remediation of data exceptions, minimizing data concerns through proactive action.
  • Cultivate proactive and strategic partnerships with stakeholders, actively communicating project status, dependencies, and remediation plans.
  • Build strong engagement with business endpoint owners to align data initiatives with business priorities.
  • Ensure consistency in identifying, categorizing, and analyzing data concerns to drive efficient remediation.
  • Provide data concern updates using quantifiable metrics and oversee reporting processes from strategic data repositories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technology, finance, risk, business units) to monitor project status and ensure alignment with Citi's Data Governance Policy and standards.
  • Actively identify opportunities to leverage Citi's internal AI capabilities, automating repetitive tasks and driving efficiency gains in data operations.
  • Escalate early and often to address potential issues and risks in a timely manner.
  • Execute in compliance with revised Policies and support adoption of new Standards and Procedures.
  • Work with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and risk management best practices.
  • Leverage analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, and Tableau to conduct data analysis and support decision-making.
  • Complete all trainings and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the Banking or Finance industry, with experience in data management, governance, or quality programs.
  • Familiarity with Citi's technology architecture and multiple asset classes such as Banking, Interest Rates, Credit, FX, Commodities, Equities, and Prime is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with experience working with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense functions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with large, complex, and diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to navigate complex systems and management processes.

Education

  • Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree preferred.
