Troubleshooting¶
"No Resumly credential found" from every tool — your key header isn't
reaching the server. In Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, or another
header-capable client, the header must be exactly Authorization =
Bearer rly_... (or X-API-Key = rly_...). Re-add or restart the server
after editing its configuration.
"Insufficient API credit" / payment-required errors — your prepaid balance is empty. Top up at app.resumly.ai → Settings → API, or ask the assistant to "get me a Resumly top-up link" (it returns a secure Stripe checkout URL for you to open yourself).
Tools don't appear in the client — restart the MCP server from your
client's MCP settings and verify that its configured URL is
https://mcp.resumly.ai/mcp. Hosted Claude and ChatGPT are not supported by
the current header-authenticated deployment; use Claude Code, Cursor, or VS
Code until Resumly announces that OAuth is live.
A hosted client asks for OAuth — this is expected. Resumly has not
activated the OAuth deployment yet; an rly_... API key cannot substitute
for that flow.
"Tailor" seems stuck — tailoring takes 1–2 minutes; the assistant receives progress updates while it runs. If it times out, ask for "the status of my last tailored resume" — if it completed, you were charged once; if it failed, you were automatically refunded.
Was I double-charged for a retry? — No: paid operations carry idempotency protection, applications bill only on confirmed submission, and every failure refunds automatically. Check Settings → API → usage for the ledger, or ask the assistant for "my Resumly balance and recent usage."
Still stuck? The tool reference lists every tool and price, and the overview explains the billing model.
